I’ve tried blogging before, in fits and starts. I’ve never maintained it for very long, owing in part to a lack of discipline, but also to the fact that I typically end up with too many other demands on my time and energy that I’m never satisfied with the frequency or quality of the writing I do manage to complete. At the moment, however, I have more time on my hands than I actually want, and I’m feeling the itch to revisit writing as a creative outlet.

But to specifically go back to blogging now, in the year of our lord twenty-twenty-five? Well… it seems practically retro. A throwback to the early aughts—the olden days, back when people used the internet to visit more than the same four or five websites over and over for the sole purpose of scrolling for content you could then share from one of those websites to another….
